Espero que hayan disfrutado de sus vacaciones de verano. Me gustaría tomar un momento para presentarme. Mi nombre es Betsy Laureano- Valentin y seré la maestra de su hijo/a. Este es mi vigésimo
cuarto año enseñando en las escuelas públicas de Chicago. Tengo una maestria en Educacion de la Universidad National Louis. Además de un bachillerato en Educación Elemental y Pre-escolar. Como educadora, valoro mi trabajo y la oportunidad que tengo de enseñar a su hijo/a las destrezas que necesitará para completar este año escolar exitosamente. El éxito de su hijo/a es mi prioridad número uno.
Primer grado es un grado demandante que requiere que los estudiantes aumenten sus destrezas y conocimiento. Es extremadamente importante que los estudiantes lean diariamente de 20-30 minutos para mejorar la fluidez y comprensión de lectura. Estoy deseosa de trabajar con estudiantes y padres y de comenzar un año productivo.
Welcome to a new school year!
I hope you enjoyed your summer vacation. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Betsy Laureano-Valentin and I will be your child's teacher. This is my twenty-fourth year teaching in the public schools of Chicago. I have a master's degree in Education from the National Louis University. In addition to a baccalaureate in Elementary Education and Pre-school. As an educator, I value my work and the opportunity I have to teach your child the skills he will need to
successfully complete this school year. Your child's success is my number one priority.
First grade is a demanding grade that requires students to increase their skills and knowledge. It is extremely important that students read 20-30 minutes daily to improve fluency and reading comprehension. I look forward to working with students and parents and starting a productive year.
Letter from Sra. Francois
Dear Camras Elementary Parents/Guardians,
My name is Yesenia Francois and I feel so honored to be the resident teacher alongside of Mrs. Laureano-Valentin this school year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the coming year. I have taken this opportunity to let you know a little about myself. I have been in the field of education for the last eight years. My teaching experiences have been in the elementary level and high school level in the general education classrooms, bilingual classrooms and in the diverse learners classrooms. I wanted to gain a better understanding of the refugee and immigrant student population and develop a deeper understanding of unique disorders and disabilities, I am currently pursuing both endorsements at National Louis University. During my personal time, I enjoy the outdoors with my family, especially playing soccer, softball and baseball with my husband and two children.
I teach from the perspective that all of us are creative beings, though not necessarily creating in the same way. I recognize that all of us learn, create, and express ideas in different ways. I encourage students to seek their own creative mode and to interpret ideas in ways that most appeal to their own creative nature. I value the opportunity to assist your child in developing their true potential. My motivation as an educator is to support and nourish the students’ abilities and interests. My personal belief is that as an educator I have the capability and opportunity to affect the life of a child positively. In my opinion that begins with believing in the child. In showing a child that you care about nourishing the special gift inside of them and celebrating differences, drives a child to want to acquire knowledge and creates a meaningful learning experience.
I look forward to working in partnership with the Camras Staff and with you throughout the coming year. I am confident that together we can provide the support and encouragement needed to help your child excel. Mi nombre es Yesenia Francois y me siento muy honrada de ser la maestra residente junto a la Sra. Laureano-Valentin este año escolar. Estoy muy feliz por conocerlos a usted y a su hijo/hija durante el año escolar. Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para contarles un poco sobre mí. He estado en trabajando en educación durante los últimos ocho años. Mis experiencias han sido en el nivel primario y en el nivel secundario en los salones de clases de educación general, bilingües y en las salones de estudiantes diversas de aprendizaje. Quería obtener una mejor comprensión de la población estudiantil refugiada e inmigrante y desarrollar una comprensión más profunda de los estudiantes diversos de aprendizaje, actualmente estoy estudiando en la Universidad de National Louis para mi maestra en los dos campos. Durante mi tiempo personal, disfruto al aire libre con mi familia, especialmente jugando fútbol, softbol y béisbol con mi esposo y mis dos hijos.
Enseño desde la perspectiva de que todos nosotros somos seres creativos, aunque no necesariamente estamos creando de la misma manera. Reconozco que todos nosotros aprendemos, creamos y expresamos ideas de diferentes maneras. Ánimo a los estudiantes a buscar su propio modo creativo e interpretar las ideas de la forma que más apele a su propia naturaleza creativa. Valoro la oportunidad de ayudar a su hijo/hija a desarrollar su verdadero potencial. Mi motivación como educador es apoyar y alimentar las habilidades e intereses de los estudiantes. Mi creencia personal es que, como educador, tengo la capacidad y la oportunidad de afectar positivamente la vida de un niño. En mi opinión eso comienza con creer en el niño. Al mostrarle a un niño que le importa alimentar el obsequio especial dentro de él y celebrar las diferencias, impulsa a un niño a querer adquirir conocimiento y crea una experiencia de aprendizaje significativa.
Espero trabajar en asociación con los empleados de Camras y con usted durante todo el próximo año. Estoy seguro de que juntos podemos darle el apoyo y aliento necesarios para ayudar a su hijo/hija a sobresalir.
